Commercial Construction Background

Ran family-owned commercial construction company in Ohio with projects across

I’ve been involved at every level of commercial construction from the field to project management and corporate leadership

I came up through construction company after completing a Carpenter Apprentice Program in the late 70s, and worked as a carpenter, a foreman, and superintendent before moving into the corporate office as a project manager in the 80s

During my leadership from the late 80s the company averaged $40 to $50 million on commercial projects across the spectrum from Retail, Hotels, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, Apartments, Student Housing, to Restaurants

Eventually with the economic downturn things slowed down and transitioned to a new 3rd generation of owners

Since 2016 I’ve run an independent construction management firm I formed and just completed the Construction Management of a $30 million historical renovation of a commercial office building into a DoubleTree Hotel

Proven Experience

The experience I would bring was developed through a career spent overseeing, managing, and scheduling complex commercial construction projects around the country

Experience bidding projects, negotiating sub-contracts, AIA billings, RFI’s, submittals, preparing and issuing change orders, punch list, project close-outs, working with Architects as well being able to take a design/build project and work with the owners on preliminary budgets, designs, value engineering

Transition Flexibility

I’ve always envisioned being in Florida, my son now lives in DC and since transitioning from the family company I’m eager to explore new opportunities

Strengths, Experience, and Day-1 Value

My biggest strength is my experience and ability to find solutions to complex

With me you get a project manager that would be ready on Day 1 – I’ve dealt with just about every issue there is, from the run-of-the-mill to the complex problems that require intricate solutions for working within budget and timeline

Well organized and detailed construction manager

Being self-employed I understand the need for doing whatever it takes to meet project goals and owners’ requirements
